Regional Cluster Meeting on Makerspace and Design Thinking in English Language Learning (Kowloon) (New)

Descriptionreview the rationale for engaging in Makerspace and Design Thinking activities in the English Language classroom and/or for co-curricular activities;
participate in a practical demonstration of a design activity;
review makerspace/design thinking projects undertaken in junior forms in two schools in Hong Kong; and
share teaching ideas and resources on makerspace, design thinking or experiential learning.
In this Regional Cluster Meeting, participants will:
Participants will also be briefed on the revised Secondary NET Deployment Guidelines in this meeting.
Regional Cluster Meetings provide a platform for:
sharing effective English language learning and teaching strategies;
enhancing collaboration between NETs and other English Panel Members;
supporting the implementation of the English language curriculum in schools; and
promoting communities of learning for ongoing professional development and support.
Participants are requested to come prepared to share ideas on how design, makerspace or experiential learning can be used in curricular or co-curricular Engish language learning. If special equipment is needed for sharing the resources, please let the facilitators know in advance.
This Regional Cluster Meeting is scheduled to take place on a face-to-face basis but may be switched to the Zoom mode if the ongoing health conditions and regulations change. All registered participants will be notified of any change at least one week in advance.
Participants will be required to wear a mask.
