Description
This workshop includes videos, photos and relevant documents. It provides opportunities for teachers to:
understand what constitutes reciprocal teaching;create and plan appropriate reciprocal teaching resources and materials;apply the four reciprocal teaching strategies in literacy programmes; and utilise tools for assessment.
Remarks
This workshop is designed for English teachers who want to integrate reciprocal teaching into their reading lessons to enhance students’ decoding and comprehension skills. Other educators are welcome to take the course. The workshop can be done individually or any group as a school-based workshop.The online workshop introduces teachers to the main features of the research-based reciprocal teaching method, also known as the Fab Four.The main focus is on teaching reading comprehension skills using the reciprocal teaching (Fab Four), i.e. predicting, clarifying, questioning and summarising.By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to gain insight into the implementation of the Fab Four, beginning with whole-class introduction to small groups working cooperatively using the four skills learned.
