This programme aims to:
(i) Provide advanced opportunities for artistic development, the cross-fertilisation of ideas and a trans-disciplinary approach to professional practice in the art and educational fields, fostering entrepreneurship and stimulating innovation;
(ii) Enhance specialised pedagogical knowledge and advanced skills in contemporary visual art practice through collaboration with different disciplines, tertiary educational institutions, the creative industries and cultural sectors;
(iii) Equip students with a deeper understanding of contemporary approaches to learning and teaching whilst also enhancing media techniques within their chosen visual arts specialisation;
(iv) Facilitate the acquisition of the necessary artistic skills through practical experiences to generate the self-confidence and knowledge necessary to undertake research and critical analysis of contemporary and new media art, social practices and social media within a context relative to visual arts and arts education, and;
(v) Enable students to cultivate a knowledge of historical, cultural, philosophical, aesthetic and educational paradigms, and the practical strategies required to support particular career paths.
