Description
This course aims to strengthen teachers’ ability to implement information literacy (IL) education in Liberal Studies (LS) curriculum.

After finishing the course, participants should be able to:
(a) implement IL in LS curriculum and Independent Enquiry Study (IES) by referring to the “Information Literacy for Hong Kong Students”;
(b) design LS lessons with IL elements;
(c) develop students’ IL in the context of LS curriculum, including:
    (i) identify the need for information;
    (ii) locate, evaluate, extract, organise and present information;
    (iii) create new ideas;
    (iv) cope with the dynamic in our information world;
    (v) identify potential dangers on the Internet and learn how to evaluate information, and protect their personal privacy;
    (vi) tackle with IL related issues such as cyberbullying, Internet addiction and ethical issues of emerging and advanced technologies; and
(d) bring in support services, tools and resources to promote IL in LS.
