Participants will have the opportunity to:
explore and understand the use of puppetry and technology to support the implementation of a
school-based English Language curriculum that addresses students with SEN learning needs;
understand how assistive and educational technologies support learning and teaching;
explore effective assessment strategies to enable individualised learning and teaching;
engage in practical experiences and ideas about how to use puppetry and technology in the SEN classroom context; and
reflect on and discuss their English classroom context.
Remarks
Participants are encouraged to share examples of current challenges or issues related to their students with SEN in the English lessons.
Priority will be given to teachers from special schools.
Participants are encouraged to provide their Gmail addresses for the convenience of post-workshop materials dissemination.

This series of workshops aims at equipping the in-service special school teacher assistants / teaching assistants with necessary knowledge and skills to assist in catering for the special educational needs (SEN) of students in special schools. The workshops will introduce the principles and policy of special education, the characteristics of different types of SEN and some basic intervention strategies. On completion of the workshops, participants should have general understanding of how to assist teachers in supporting students with SEN.
