In this Keys2 programme workshop, participants will:
gain a good understanding of the writing process introduced in Keys2 programme;
become familiar with the writing lessons in the Keys2 programme and the unit resources;
complete practical tasks that help students develop their understanding of a range of writing strategies for process writing tasks in Keys2;
have a good knowledge of how the reading and the writing lessons are connected; and
start the planning process on incorporating the Keys2 programme into the P4 school curriculum.
Remarks: Attendance is mandatory for all three workshops in the series.
Teachers must register on TCS for the workshops.
Teachers are required to bring their P4 textbooks, school calendar and scheme of work for the curriculum planning activity.

develop a good understanding of the Keys2 programme reading lessons and the reading strategies adopted in the Programme;
participate in hands-on activities on how to support students to apply and use the reading strategies;
develop a good understanding of how the reading texts could be connected with the writing tasks in Keys2; and
develop an awareness of how the Keys2 programme can support school curriculum development.

The programme aims at upgrading teachers’ knowledge and skills in the teaching of English in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. It will focus on areas of English language knowledge and skills relevant to the current needs of teachers in the local school sector with particular emphasis on the implementation of recent updates in the English language curriculum.
Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to:
• review and reflect on the current practice of teaching English in schools in Hong Kong;
• develop and understanding of updated strategies of English language teaching and learning;
• sample practical ideas and activities to help students with their English language development.

In this Keys2 workshop, participants will:
be provided with an overview of the P5 Keys2 Units;
learn about and have hands-on practice of the new reading approach and strategies adopted in P5 including the flipped content;
develop a good understanding of how to support students to apply the reading strategies;
learn about the vocabulary building strategies in the programme; and
start the planning process on incorporating the Keys2 programme into the P5 school curriculum.
Remarks: All P5 teachers who are new to the programme are required to attend Day 1 and Day 2 of the P4 workshops.
Teachers must register on TCS for the workshops.
