On completion of this programme, participants are expected to:
1. Broaden their horizons of participants in meeting the ever-changing challenges of education through introducing various perspectives/domains of leadership within and outside the school contexts;
2. Identify and cultivate leadership skills and style pertaining to their own personality and character traits;
3. Develop a solid framework in handling their day-to-day functional duties, including preparing school plans, implementing sustainable projects, conducting effective school evaluations, developing strategic human resource approaches, and maintaining constructive relationship with the community; and
4. Establish a mutual support network of SPSMs so that they can benefit from mutual sharing and reflection with regard to professional development, new initiatives, and concerns pertaining to primary education.

The course will help participants achieve the following objectives:
(a) Developing strategies and pedagogy in connection with using English as the medium of instruction for enhancing effective learning and teaching of the Mathematics Education KLA;
(b) Developing differentiated resources to cater for students with different language proficiencies and learning abilities in learning the Mathematics Education KLA using English as the medium of instruction;
(c) Understanding, acquiring and deploying teaching strategies and classroom management techniques for learning and teaching the Mathematics Education KLA effectively in English as the medium of instruction, including but not limited to: presenting and explaining subject content clearly and systematically, eliciting students’ responses through questioning, giving students opportunities to demonstrate their learning in English, and giving appropriate feedback to help students improve their learning;
(d) Designing, developing and practising learning and teaching tasks, instructional and assessment materials for teaching the Mathematics Education KLA in English as the medium of instruction to support students’ learning of both the subject content/skills and the subject language;
(e) Gauging and evaluating students’ progress through assessment of, at and for learning; and
(f) Collecting and disseminating good practices in teaching the Mathematics Education KLA using English as the medium of instruction.
